This project redefines the role of a firestation within the Strip District neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA. It aims to both serve the community as a firestation typically does, but also to bring people into the firestation as a of public meeting and gathering space. This is done through the narrative of a gradient, which physically separates the firefighters from the public, but creates visual connections through windows, an observation deck, and a public outdoor raingarden.
